Increased production, more even and better quality
- Lettuce grow faster:
- Lollo Rosso ”Multired” fresh weight is 30% higher on average compared with HPS lines → ”Multired” is ready to harvest 7 to 10 days earlier
- Red-veined dock fresh weight is 100% higher on LED line compared to HPS lines!
- Summer crisp is ready to harvest in LED line at least 2-3 days before HPS lines
- Lettuce Summer crisp grown under LED lamps was evaluated to taste sweeter, and chemical analyses done by Hortilab show that there are 30% less nitrates (even though average fresh weight of the lettuces in the LED line was 11% higher)
- Plants receive water more evenly on the LED line
